A 27-year-old woman, Glory Chiyeaka, has been dragged before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing a gold necklace worth N4 million naira.
Chiyeaka is facing a one-count charge on stealing., she however, pleaded not guilty
The Police Prosecutor, Dr. Simon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 28, at the Mosafejo area of Ojo.
Uche alleged that Chiyeaka stole the gold necklace belonging to one Aranu Franklin, and was arrested following police investigation
He said the the gold chain is valued at N4 million naira. .
The policce prosecutor said that the offence contravenes the provisions of section 287 of he Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Meanwhile, the magistrate, Mr L. K J Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjiourned the case until August 5, 2024 forr hearing.
