Sen. Godiya Akwashiki ( APC- Nasarawa North), has purchased two buses for Eggon Community Secondary School and Eggon Kyenkyen Nursery and Primary School, Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Akwashiki, Chairman, Senate Committee on Employment, Labour and Productivity handed over the buses keys to the officials of Eggon Cultural and Development Association ( ECDA) and ECDA Women Wing during 2021 Eggon carnival in Nassarawa Eggon.
Akwashiki also pledged to pay West African Examination Council ( WAEC) and National Examination Council ( NECO) for the final students of the two schools.
” This is part of my continued contributions to the development of humanity and education sector and for the overall development of the state.
” I want to urge students of these schools and other students to take their studies with seriousness in order to excel in life.
” Considering the importance of education to human and societal development,” he said.
The senator has launched the AWBE 10th eear anniversary magazine with the sum of N3million with a call on youths and Nigerians to embrace culture considering its importance.
Akwashiki has assured the people of Nasarawa North of his continued determination to provide infrastructural facilities in order to improve on their standard of living.
” I will continue to embark on road construction, provision of electricity, hospitals to communities among other social amenities in order to change your lives and the lives of others positively,” he added.
The senator has also donated one Bajaj motorcycle to the organizer of Eggon Carnival.
He has solicited for the support from all and sundry to enable him succeed at the national assembly.
Also speaking, Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State urged Eggon nation and other ethnic nationalities to continue to embrace their culture in their interest and for peace, unity and development of the society.
Sule, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Alhaji Murtala Lamus called on Eggon nation and other people to support his administration to succeed.
Mr Labaran Maku, former Minister of Information, Mr Aliyu Dogara, member representing Wamba Constituency at the state legislature, Mr Makpa Malla, Senior Special Assistant ( SSA) to Gov. Abdullahi Sule, Mr Jeremiah UMaru, Jakadan Wamba among others called on Eggon nation to unite and embrace peace for development to thrive.
On their parts, Dr Bala Abaine Angbazo, the Aren Eggon represented by Waziri Eggon, Justice Ahmed Ubangari ( rtd), Mr David Abuluya, the ECDA President has enjoined Eggon nation to continue to embrace unity, peace and tolorance irrespective of their affilations for the progress and development of Eggon nation and the society at large.
The duo said that the importance of unity and peace to societal development couldnot be overemphsized, hence the needs of their calls in that directions.
Earlier, Mr Mark Abashi, Mr Achuku Haruna, the Chairman, Board of Trustees and President, Ame Wo Ba Eggon said the event was organized in order to promote unity and peace among Eggon nation.
They have restated their commitments to continue to key into positive polices and programmes that will foster unity and peace among Eggon people and other ethnic nationalities.
