The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has congratulated the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, as he turns 71.
His birthday coincides with his 20th year as leader of the Nupe nation.
The minister, in a statement on Monday in Abuja, described the Etsu Nupe as a worthy leader who had displayed exceptional wisdom in handling the affairs of his people.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Etsu Nupe is the Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers.
According to the minister, Niger and the Federal Government have benefitted from the traditional ruler’s wisdom and wealth of experience over the past two decades.
“It is not in doubt that his reign has witnessed peace and prosperity in Nupe land and will continue to be a blessing to his people and to the nation.
“I, therefore, wish to identify with his successful reign and congratulate him and his people on his notable achievements.
“I also want to thank the Almighty Allah for making him a shining example among traditional rulers in Nigeria,” Idris stressed. (NAN)
