The leadership of the Eggon Cultural Development Association (ECDA), Worldwide, has concluded arrangement for the launching of a N500 million appeal fund for the equipping of Science and Computer laboratories, purchase of library books, ICT facilities, building of additional blocks of classrooms, renovations and fencing of Eggon Community Secondary School, Nassarawa-Eggon in Nasarawa State.
This is contained in a statement signed by DCG Sule Allu ( rtd) Chairman, Central Planning Committee and issued to newsmen on Saturday in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the state.
The statement said, ” Eggon Community Secondary School, Nassarawa-Eggon, an initiative of ECDA, was established in September 1979, with the aim to complementing government’s efforts in the areas of manpower development
” Moral values, discipline and sound teaching in line with the National Policy of Education.
” The school has produced so many notable personalities within and outside the state, and since inception 43 years ago, the community school has graduated 38 sets.
” Who are contributing to national development in their various fields of endeavours.
The statement said that the launch of the appeal fund was under the Chairmanship of Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, the APC National Chairman
” The event is scheduled to hold on the 3rd December, 2022 @ the Eggon Community Secondary School playground, Nassarawa-Eggon by 10am prompt.
” The Special Guest of Honour is, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A Sule, the Governor of Nasarawa State, the Chief Fund raiser, His Excellency, Dr. Mannaseh D. Jatau, the Deputy Governor of Gombe, while the Emir of Lafia and Chairman, Nasarawa State Traditional Council of Chiefs, Justice Sidi Bage (rtd), will be the Royal Father of the Day.
“Father of the Day is Dr Joel E.B. Adagadzu will be the father of the day and Prof. Mary Ango, the first female Professor in Eggon land will be the Chairlady.
“Dr. Mrs Rhoda Amos Idakula of Nasarawa State University, Keffi is the Mother of the Day,
” While Arc. Prof. Evelyn Allu-Kangkum of University of Jos will present the Key Note address on the topic: ” The Roles of Sustainable Education in Community Development : A Case For The Eggon Nation”.
The statement said that the ECDA leadership is inviting all and sundry to the event, to support the educational development in Eggonland and the society at large. ( NAN)
