“… we have successfully registered 31, 494 Bassas returnees, comprises 124 villages…”
The Chairman, Toto Local Government council, Hon Pharm Ahmed Baba Yahaya said since the returned of the Bassas on the 10th February 2025 to their ancestral home, the area is experiencing more peace, unity and development.
The council boss stated this while welcoming, Hon Usman Baba CP (Rtd) the State Commissioner for Security and Sundry Matters to the area.
He said that the importance of peace to societal development could not be overemphasized.
” Our appreciation is first to Almighty God, His Excellency Engr A A Sule, our security agents and the entire people of the local government area for their peaceful disposition and our peace initiative is getting results,
” You can attest to that from the people.
” Peace has returned and people are enjoying peace and going about with their normal activities,” he said.
He also appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his purposeful leadership in the state
On his part, Retired CP Usman Baba, Commissioner for Security and Sundry Matters said contrary to claims by some leaders of Bassa that is only some faction of the bassa nation that have returned and the majority are yet to do so.
” This is confusing and totally misleading,” he said.
The Rtd CP Baba appreciated Gov. Sule for operating all inclusive leadership in the state.
” I want to appreciate the leadership style of His Excellency, Engr A A Sule, who is giving everybody a listening ears.
” And the executive chairman pharmacist Yahaya whose efforts on daily basis is not hidden to the state government for finding a lasting peace in Toto LGA” he said.
On his part, the Aguma Bassa, Dr David Wodi Tukura, has assured Gov. Sule of their loyalty and support at all times.
” And also to pharmacist Yahaya, executive chairman Toto local government council for being up and doing in ensuring peace in Toto LGA,” he said.
The monarch assures of his subjects resolved to live peacefully with the people.
He also appreciated the government and other NGOs for their support and appealed for more support
” With food grains, toiletries and building materials to improve on my subjects standard of living,” he said
Also speaking at the camp, Ustaz Ishaq Salihu Kaura informed the commissioner that so far in the camp, they have registered 31, 494 persons constituted 124 villages.
” And out of these 59 communities has been successfully and peacefully settled,” he said.
Ustaz Ishaq commended Aguma Bassa for being apart peace maker.
