The Federal Ministry of Education has inaugurated a seven-member committee to address bullying incidents in schools, while also reinforcing its commitment to students welfare and a safe learning environment.

This is contained in a statement by Mrs Folasade Boriowo, the Director of Press in the ministry and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday.

Boriowo quoted the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa to have emphasised the urgent need for effective interventions, citing the psychological impact of bullying on students.

Alausa said that the committee would review reported cases and ensure swift action, complementing the 21-member team working on a National Policy on Anti-Bullying.

He added that the Ministry had introduced some channels to facilitate confidential reporting, to include: Hotline: 09012660044
Email: [email protected]
WhatsApp: 08052536133.

Alausa reiterated the Ministry’s zero-tolerance stance on bullying, urging school administrators, teachers, parents, and students to support the initiative. (NAN)
