The Immediate Past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi has said that those occupying elective positions need to be given more time to enable them deliver on their campaign promises and make amends where necessary.
This, he said they have spend two out of their four years in office stressing that those who may want to seek reelection still have ample time to do the needful and get support of their electorates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Balarabe Abdullahi who is the Chairman Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu in Yobe State stated this while answering questions from newsmen in his country home Umaisha in Toto LGA of Nasarawa State during the sallah celebration.
According to him, the displayed of campaign posters and other criticism on politicians holding elective positions at this moment is on called for because they still have two years more to make a difference and give significant results on their mandates.
“For us that are outside the circle at the moment, we are seating on the fence watching and accessing our representatives, when the time come, we will do the needful and tell the public what we are contesting for but for now is not yet time”
“For me our elected representatives still have more time to deliver, to do more, to make amends where necessary especially those who want to return to their seats and have not done enough for their people” Balarabe said.
“It is not time to criticize them but to encourage them, their journey is just half way along the line, they can do more and I believe showing interest on their seats and the early display of campaign posters is a distraction” He added.
He called for more support and prayers for leaders at all levels to enable them succeed.
He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for providing purposeful leadership in the State just as he hailed him for his peace effort in Toto LG calling on the people to unite in respective of their differences for sustain peace and development in the area.
He lamented that the area has seen both the good, the bad and the ugly situations hence the need for citizens to support government efforts in rebuilding Toto LG.
