Dr Dominic Bako, the Director General, Nasarawa State Bureau of Public Procurement( BPP) said that he would continue to ensure that due process is followed in the award and execution of government projects and other activities of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state.

Bako stated this when he led management team of the bureau to appear before the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation for the bureau’s 2021 budget assessment.

He said that he will continue to bring new innovations in order to ensure transparency and accountability by MDAs and other people while executing government policies and programmes in the state.

” I want to commend the Assembly for passing the BPP law toward ensuring transparency and accountability in the state.

” I also want to commend His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule for giving  attention to the bureau as His Excellency deserves commendation.

” We are not EFCC but watch dog of MDAs in order to ensure that right things are done for the overall development of the state.

” We are not awarding contract but our duty is to ensure transparency and accountability in the award of contract among others ” he said.

The director general has assured of their determination in ensuring that contract sum are not over estimated.

Earlier, Hon Aliyu Dogara, the Chairman of the Committee said that the committee has confidence on the ability of Dr Dominic Bako to take the bureau to the greater height in the state.

” We have invited you to know your Bureau 2021 budget performance and also to know areas of your challenges if there are with the view of addressing them.

” We will continue to partner with you in order to ensure transparency and accountability in government activities for the overall development of the state.

He has also urged the bureau’s DG and his team to continue to ensure transparency and accountability while discharging their duties.
