Rotary club of Abuja Sapphire, District 9125 held its Family of Rotary Meeting and Election of officials to stir the affairs of the club for the next Rotary year to ensure completion of projects they have already started.

Speaking during the program, the President of the club, Rotarian Chinyere Ezenwokike explained that the end of year program is a time when clubs give account of stewardship and take inventory of the year’s activity.

She noted that it was also the last meeting for the year and a time to elect officials to carry on the baton of leadership passed on to deliver on mandate of the club.

Ezenwokike maintained that most activities were geared towards achieving project targets for the year especially in child mortality , tree planting, water, sanitation, environment and empowerment for rural women through skills acquisition and training.

According to her, all these are achievable through drive and active membership and contributions to Rotary Foundation to ensure money is raised yearly to impact on lives of the less privileged round the world.

Also speaking, President, Nigerian National Association Netherlands ( NNA-NL), an umbrella body of all Nigerians in Netherlands ,Chief Evelyn Azih, who is an honorary new member reiterated that as a representative of the club in diaspora, her target is to use her influence to ensure resources are channelled towards helping the poor and less privileged.

In his remark, the President elect, Rotarian Festus Nwadike pledged to build on membership capacity to help raise the finances to carry out projects to keep up with Rotary tradition of not just building leadership capacity but impacting lives through humanitarian projects.

Highlight of the meeting include affirmation of the president elect for year 2021/2022 and nomination of the president for year 2022/23 along with election of board members. (NAN)
