” … as he tasks new councillors on people’s oriented laws…

The Executive Chairman, Nassarawa Eggon LGA of Nasarawa State, Bar. Iliya Ibn Aliyu, has urged the newly elected councillors of the council to initiate people’s oriented laws for the overall development of the area.

The Chairman made the call during the swearing in Ceremony of his Deputy, Council Secretary and the newly elected members of Nassarawa Eggon Legislative Council on Thursday in Nassarawa Eggon.

The LG boss also encouraged them to embrace their responsibilities fully to improve on the standard of living of the people of the area

According to him, as lawmakers, you bear an important responsibility in shaping the future of our Local Government.

” Your role is pivotal in making legislation that supports our goals of development, security, and prosperity.

” By crafting sound laws and regulations, you provide the framework that enables the executive to execute initiatives effectively,” he said.

The chairman added ” Our election results are a testament to our people’s desire for collaboration and progress.This council comprises both the ruling party, APC and Opposition members.

” Let’s us harness this diversity, working together beyond political affiliations to deliver the best for Nassarawa Eggon Local Government, ” he said.

 

 

He also urged them to be transparent and accountable while discharging their duties.

” Legislative oversight is essential in safeguarding transparency and building public trust,” he said.

The chairman pledged to prioritize fostering sustainable development, enhancing infrastructure, investing in agriculture.

” Trade and local economies , supporting education, empowering our youth and creating more opportunities for all.

” The expectation of our people are high and rightfully so, I am confident that together , we will rise to these expectations with dedication and integrity,” he said.

Aliyu solicited for the support of all and sundry to enable him succeed.

On speakings, the Aren Eggon, Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku ( Rtd) represented by Ciroma Eggon, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Idde, Hon Jacob Kudu, member representing Nassarawa Eggon East Constituency, Hon Mukuku Agah, former lawmaker representing Nassarawa Eggon East Constituency, Hon Mathew Duniya, among others advised the new council officials to work together for the progress of the area.

While congratulating the new Council officials, they urged them to synergize effectively with the executive arm for the peace and development of the area.

Barr.Timothy Akolo Adda, the Oath Commissioner while administering the Oath of Office to them urged them to discharge their duties with the fear of God.

He also urged them to abide by the oath taken.

Responding, Alhaji Yusuf Mada, the Deputy Chairman of the Council pledged their readiness to live above board while discharging their duties.

He also pledged their total loyalty and support to the executive chairman to succeed.

Earlier, the Director of Personnel Management ( DPM) of the Area, Mr Usman Egye also assured the executive chairman of staff support and collaboration for the overall development of the area.
