The 7th Nasarawa State House of Assembly says it has passed 21 bills and 41 resolutions within the last two years.
The Speaker of the 7th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau disclosed this on Wednesday, at a sitting to mark the end of the second session of the 7th Assembly in Lafia.
Dr. Jatau described the Seventh Assembly as one of the best due to laudable achievements in the last two years.
The Speaker said that the achievements recorded was as a result of unity and good working relationship among members of the 7th Assembly.
” Since inception of the 7th Assembly, some of our achievements are, We have passed 21 bills and 41 resolutions. The bills comprised of 17 executive bills and 4 private members bills.
” I can’t thank you enough for our unity and effective synergy as well as collaboration with other arms of government in the state.
” I want to applaud you for your support and cooperation. This assembly I have rated it to be the best as we have competent members, who are doing their job diligently.
” I also want to applaud you for your roles and your integrity at all times and I urge you to keep it up” the Speaker said.
Jatau assured of his continued determination to operate an open door policy and all inclusive leadership for the progress and development of the House and the entire State.
The Speaker re-assured of enhanced cordial working relationship between the three arms of government in the state.
” I want to assure His Excellency of our continued commitment and determination to give him all the necessary and needed support to succeed” he added.
The Speaker also assured the staff of his continued commitment to better their standard of living via improved welfare.
In a related development, A Bill for a Law to Establish the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital Akwanga 2025 and Other Matters Connected Therewith passed first reading during the day’s sitting.
The Speaker announced the passage of the bill into first reading during the House Proceedings today in Lafia.
The Speaker fixed 14th July, 2025 for the second reading of the bill.
Earlier, Hon Suleiman Yakubu Azara, the Majority Leader of the House moved a motion for the bill to scale first reading.
Hon. Luka Iliya Zhekaba, the Minority Leader of the House seconded the motion.
The House unanimously passed the bill into first reading and proceeded for end of year legislative recess to resume on July 14th, 2025.
