In his determination to eradicate poverty and assuage Nigerians particularly the youths of untold hardship, the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has empowered over two hundred Nigerian youths with CNG Tricycles across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Addressing Journalists at the post CNG Tricycles distribution rally ground on Democracy day, Mr. Nuhu Christopher, said President Tinubu with his foresight has made the provisions possible so as to cushion the pains of subsidy removal.
Mr Nuhu Christopher, who is the Deployment and Recovery Officer, PCNai /’ PI-CNG Ltd., reiterated that “His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deemed it necessary to provide an alternative energy, that is CNG in order to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy remover, and bring smiles to the FCT residents through this gesture “.
According to him, CNG is not just a cheap means of transportation but has safety measures that enhances welfare of the citizenry.
Said he, “CNG Tricycles will surmount the prizes of Transportation, House Renting and Foodstuff especially amongst beneficiaries”.
Mr Christopher maintained that the initiative has already been extended to Lagos, Kwara, Plateau and Kogi respectively, and in few weeks time, it be extended to Adamawa, Kaduna Delta, and other states. The aim he said is to cut across the 36 States of the federation.
Advising Nigerians about ridiculars who may be out to ridicule what ever good initiative from government, he said the gesture is not just timely but serves as Democracy gift for Nigerians.
Although, the method of distribution was not explicitly stated, some observers were of the view that it might be the ruling party’s way of paying back to it’s loyalists but Mr Christopher advised the populace to be guided against speaking lies of the government.
He is of the view that “Nigeria belongs to all of us, and if we continue to speak ill of the nation, it will have adverse effects on the country.”
Speaking in the same vain, the National Chairman, NATOMORAS, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Sani Hassan, said, the 200′ unit of Tricycles given to the FCT youths, will trickle down to the thirty six (36) States of the country. He stated that the gesture, is a thing of great joy for them, that is why they are celebrating carrying passengers around FCT for free of charge.
Alhaji Hassan maintained that he lacks words to appreciate Mr. president Tinubu for what he has done for them, praying that 2027 will be a walk over for Mr President.
Not missing on the scene, was Comrade Bala Haruna, FCT Chairman, NATOMORAS. He said he is also appreciating the indefatigable president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the privileges given to them to enjoy the kind of initiative which is first of its kind in the associations life time. Going memory lane in appreciation of the ruling party, Comrade Haruna said they received N30,000 each during the Covid 19 pandemics but it cannot be compared to the present gesture given them by President Tinubu.
Comrade Haruna is of the view that in FCT, the 200 Tricycles will be distributed across. Kubwa, Kabusa, Oshafa, Gsladimawa, Gudu, Jabi- Life Camp, Karmo, Jahi Kado Kwichi and other towns within the Capital City.
Haruna emphasized that, the Tricycles were given to individual members of the NATOMORAS, at a very subsidized higher purchased rate, as such, they given 30 percent lower than the conventional fuel using Tricycles.
