The Minister of State, Trade, Industry and Investment, Sen. John Enoh urged Mrs Ngozi Oyewole and others to take the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) to greater heights in line with government’s industrialisation programme.
This is contained in a statement issued by Evelyn Onyilo, Personal Assistant to Oyewole on Sunday in Abuja.
According to the statement, Oyewole is the Continental President of Commonwealth Business, Africa and also the Chairperson Wood & Wood/ furniture products of the Sectoral Group of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN).
She is a fellow of the Institute of The Nigeria Training and Development (NITAD) and expected to represent MAN on the Board.
The statement explained that Enoh named the Chairman of the inaugurated 13 Member Board of the Governing Council of the ITF chaired as Hamma Alikumo.
He said it marked a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s drive to bridge workforce skill gaps and align talent development with industry demands.
The statement added that Enoh emphasised the critical role of ITF in preparing Nigeria’s workforce for a highly competitive global economy, advocating for technology-driven training programmes, industry-academia partnerships, and strategic resource utilisation to accelerate progress.
“The board chairman extended his gratitude to the Minister and pledged to align efforts with national priorities, ensuring their leadership drives meaningful economic growth and industrial resilience.
“The inauguration represents a bold step toward Nigeria’s industrial transformation, reinforcing the government’s commitment to economic diversification, sustainable development, and long-term prosperity.
“Oyewole brings to the table years of experience in the economic and business sectors of Nigeria’s development.
“Meanwhile, various groups and associations have been congratulating Oyewole on her appointment as a member of the board describing it as well deserved,” the statement noted.
